Sonya Peres
Educational Outreach Officer

Sonya is Sustainability First’s part-time Educational Outreach Officer for the Sustainable Futures Programme. She is working on delivering workshops on sustainability for primary and secondary school youth.
For the rest of the week, she works in the higher and further education
sector supporting universities and colleges to respond to the climate emergency.

She has a BA in International Development from McGill University and an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh.
Prior to graduating in 2019, she worked with a South Asian women’s centre in Edinburgh on sustainability projects, led a research team in successfully creating a sustainable food standard for Canadian universities and colleges and hosted a community radio show on environmental justice.
